OUR PRESCHOOL PROGRAM

The best preschool education promotes not just an accumulation of knowledge, but a love of learning. At Best Beginnings we create a warm, nurturing environment where children learn, play and grow. If our children feel positive about coming to school, and know that they are safe and loved here, then we have built a stable foundation for all future learning.

Each class alternates between unstructured and organized activities. Our theme-based curriculum encourages exploration in the areas of art, large and fine motor skills, music, cooking, drama, science and kindergarten readiness. Ours is not a competitive, achievement-oriented environment, but one that builds strong emotional and social skills, childhood friendships, self -confidence and positive self-esteem.

Threes: The primary goal of this class is to get children comfortable in a setting outside of their home. For many children this is their first group experience. This class emphasizes socialization, fostering friendships, experimenting with new and different materials, learning to take direction from others, differentiating from teacher-directed time and unstructured play, as well as sharing and learning together in a cooperative framework.

Our 3's classes meet twice a week for 2 1/2 hours per session.  Our teacher to student ratio is 2:14.  Children must be 3 by August 31st and potty trained to enroll in our 3's program.

Fours: This class recognizes the cumulative skills developed as three years olds. It builds on their increased attention span by providing more structured time for developing pre-kindergarten readiness concepts such as numbers, letters and science. It also challenges them to utilize their developing abilities in the areas of art, circle time, music, science, drama, fine motor skills and peer interaction.

Science, art, language activities, music, drama, math and reading readiness skills are broadened through a more in-depth exploration of themes. There are also additional opportunities for independent/group art projects, group discussions and class responsibility.
